| SPRING 2009 & ACADEMIC YEAR 2009-10 The list of programs approved for study abroad is meant for use as a general guide for Duke undergraduates interested in studying abroad. Please take the time to read this page carefully so that the information regarding the program you are researching is not misunderstood. Students are encouraged to read the program web sites, as the Office of Study Abroad may not know the latest details about another program. Specific questions that are not answered by the program's web site are best answered by the program coordinators themselves. Internships: Duke does not give credit for internships that do not include academic work. Students who wish to participate in an internship that is part of an approved study-abroad program should contact the appropriate department at Duke (usually PS or PPS) to try to arrange credit approval. This must be arranged before departure!! Students unable to find an approved program suiting their needs may petition for approval of another program. Please ask for more information on this option if it seems appropriate. Restricted regions: Undergraduates studying abroad are subject to Duke's International Travel Policy, including restrictions against travel to certain regions. Program changes: Each year the list of approved programs is reviewed. Programs that have not been attended by Duke students in the past 5 years are removed from the list. New programs may be added based on student petitions and faculty recommendations. IMPORTANT! Students studying on non-Duke programs during the academic year will be charged a Study Abroad Fee. The 2008-2009 fee is $2,468. Programs in Africa & the Middle East Programs in the Pacific Rim (Asia, Australia & New Zealand) Last updated: 26 August 2008 |
