A graduate of Siena College in Albany, NY in political science, Paul Paparella completed his Masters degree in International Relations at the State University of New York at Albany (SUNY Albany). He has worked for an international development NGO in Washington, DC, and in addition, lived and worked as an ESL instructor in South Korea for several years. Prior to coming to Duke, he spent four years in the School for International Training's study abroad office, providing advising and program support for the Asia and Pacific Rim programs. His main areas of interest in international education include safety and risk management for students abroad and summer program development. He joined Duke University's Global Education Office for Undergraduates in 2006.

Primary Responsibilities: Advising for Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Rim, Middle East, and Asia; Program management for Duke Study in China (semester/summer), Duke in Ghana (summer), Duke in Venice (summer), Duke in Australia (summer), Duke in Mexico (summer), Duke in Rome (summer), Duke in Spain (summer), Duke in Brazil (summer), Duke in Singapore (summer), and Duke in Israel (summer)
