Postcard from Abroad

Dear Office of Study Abroad:

Spending a summer term in Venice was one of the greatest things I've done in my life. As an art student, the original art and architecture were priceless to see in person. Not only did I form amazing relationships with the other students in the program, but we were all able to share the experience of traveling around Italy. We went to Rome, Padua, Verona, Ischia, Napoli, Florence, Milan, and Ravenna. It’s so easy to move through the country and see many of its famous cities in a short period of time.

I got to see the works of Titian, Michael Angelo, and many other legendary artists. It also happened that the Biennale of Modern Art event was held in Venice that summer. Artisans from all over the world displayed their fascinating works of art.

Being in Venice made me want to learn to speak Italian, and perhaps, come back and spend a few years there to really immerse myself in the culture and be inspired.
